They Finally Agree

Incredible! The GFS and Euro model actually show agreement on a storm. Oh, how things change overnight.

Both models show the storm picking up steam today, but not picking up nearly enough moisture from the gulf to really dump snow in the Northeast. The reason being the jet stream right now is very, very strong, causing the storms to zip across the country. The quick jet prevents moisture build up and the storm lacks a big punch. Like last week’s storm, the storm will intensify off the Atlantic coast, but I don’t think it will be nearly as dramatic.

If these two can get along, so can the GFS and Euro!

My updated snow cast:
NYC: 6″
Boston: 6-8″
DC/Baltimore: 2-4″
Ski Resorts: 4″
